An arm and a leg!

In week seven our bean is growing arms and legs...among other things!

How far along? 7 weeks
Weight gain/loss: 1lb so far
Maternity clothes? Underbelly pants and longer shirts.
Sleep? Good, but never enough! I am constantly exhausted!
Best moment this week? Thanksgiving with friends and no m/s!
Food cravings: Ice cream and chocolate pie!
Gender: Countdown to February!
Belly button in or out? In
Movement: Cannot wait for this!
What I miss? Feeling normal I guess. Being able to breathe and function w/o nausea. But its totally worth it!
What I'm looking forward to: Our next appointment Dec 15!!
Milestones: Saw baby and beating heart on Monday!

Another turkey down the hatch!

Well not really, since I don't eat turkey! But another great Thanksgiving come and gone, and the accompanying four day weekend almost over. So sad!

I managed to get through all the cooking and baking without a single gag, and my short reprieve even held through the hectic Black Friday sales! Though BD did venture into the masses without me for the early morning sales! I was afraid morning sickness would strike and ruin our time! I woke up just in time to see BD and the brother in law hauling in a massive 55 inch LCD (Ummm..honey I thought we agreed on 46in?), a blue ray player and a video camera. Hell yeah for Black Fridays! We all napped and watched some movies until the boys felt rejuvenated and ventured to Kohls to continue our shopping journey! Did you see that Kohls ad by the way? It was like a freaking magazine!

Much parking lot stalking ensued for a spot to be found; at one point I thought poor BD was going to turn the truck around and head to the house! After finding our towels and waffle maker, I practically stole some picture frames that held 24 photos and we got in line. And waited and waited....and waited some more. I was ready to call put it all back (ha. pregnancy has NOT improved my patience.). We got out of there and trekked over to Best Buy for cheap as dirt blue rays and a PS3 for BD...

Now I wake up this morning feeling like crap again, but so thankful for two days where I felt mostly normal! BD is enjoying his massive TV and PS3 and I am enjoying laziness on my couch!

Vacations & Morning sickness!

Well our vacation to Texas may not have been much of a vacation (It was exhausting.) but it was good to see the family! You don't realize you miss home until you actually go home! Don't get me wrong, I love our life here, and all of our friends, but that yearning for home comes out of hiding every so often!

We told the family about our expected blessing while we were home. Now I know its very early to be telling people, but there was no way we could hold it in when we had our only opportunity to tell them in person! Everyone was overjoyed and excited, which was a great relief! (Not that we expected any different...the whole thing is just worrisome and stressful)

Annnnnd....back to work. Morning sickness started kicking my ass about mid way through our trip by the way, and it is still making my mornings (aka all day) miserable. Ick. But I know its all so worth it in the end, plus it won't last the whole time I hope! We went in for our first ultrasound on Wednesday and saw the gestational sac and the yolk sac! Despite the doctors arguing with me that I was 9 wks, the ultrasound proved me right that I am only about 5 wks! Silly doctors! Thinking they know my body better than me! Nonetheless, doctor ordered follow up blood work and an ultra sound on Monday! So far the blood work is looking good, and we will get more drawn today for comparison! Can't wait to see our little bean on Monday!

Everything between friends..

We have without a doubt, the best group of friends. I know that everyone says that about their friends, but I am really proud to have this great group of people that love us and are there for us. They are absolutely irreplaceable!

Friday, my work did the usual birthday spiel for me that they do for everyone else, only I ended up with two cakes since two of my co workers wanted to bring something for me! I felt loved haha. I had the awkward, everyone-is-staring-while-singing-happy-birthday moment. Like I'm not awkward enough on my own :)

Cleaned the entire house Saturday! I feel so accomplished! BD shampooed all the floors and cleaned the bathrooms too; he rocks! Got dizzy a few times, and winded a few times, had to sit a minute, but we got it all done. At this point I am doing my normal thing until my body says 'Take a break!' and then I sit for a while and come back to it later!

Had a GREAT early celebration for my birthday last night. We decided to tell our group that we are expecting, and the reaction was more than we could have imagined. They all seemed ecstatic...I think the terms "our baby" and "the group baby" were thrown around A LOT! Its good to know that even though we are entering another stage in our lives, that our friends are totally on board.

BD cooked a ton of hamburgers and chicken for everyone, we had chocolate cake and cheese cake, and everyone had a LOT of beer :) except me of course...I drank so much water last night I think I completely cleansed my system!

Did a WHOLE lot of nothing today, as we were just wiped from being up until 2am! Really looking forward to traveling to see family this week as well. Maybe we will make the big announcement, but I'm not sure just yet!

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways :)

Friday! I am so happy that its Friday. I am exhausted! Its hard work making a baby!

Massive housecleaning happening tonight! BD is going to help thank goodness. We are going to shampoo the floors and the stairs, I just want everything spotless. Party tomorrow and going out of town Tuesday, and there is nothing worse than coming home to a dirty house!

I am really glad to be busy though, because it keeps my mind off of wanting to buy a mega phone, climb to the highest building and scream to the world, ' WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!!' Right now, that's exactly what I want to do, but I know that I should wait a little bit before telling everyone. Right now we've told our parents and siblings and a few close friends.

Well I'd best get to work! Have a lovely Friday!

Digital Tests Know Best

PIAC this morning....dipped the stick....1 min later? BFP! Finally! After six months with three cycles, only two of those being relevant(since one was annovulatory), we did it!

But BD did not trust the two tests I dipped this morning, an IC and an FRER! So I bought digitals on my way to work this morning and tested when I got home from work and a pregnant was spelled out clear as day 30 seconds! BD started flipping out shoving the test in my face haha. I was like, I told you so, I told you so :)

I love him, but the man is stubborn haha. Yay us! Baby G is on the way!

BF....?????

Tomorrow is the big day...for testing that is. Lets all hope for a big fat +++++++++

I'm more than a little nervous.

BD is encouraging as always and completely reassuring that we will simply try much harder next time if this is not our cycle. Goals for next cycle? Better timing. I'd like to see us hit every day around the illusive O date. So back to OPKs. So much for "relaxing" and "letting nature take its course"....but then I knew that was a crock of crap anyway. If you don't try, then how can it happen for you?

I didn't mention this morning, b/c I was in a hurry, but my sweet BD dropped 8 lbs last week! I am so proud of him! He gained back a pound or two on his cheat days this weekend, but over all he has really done so well! Our neighbors (some of his longtime military buddies) are going to move an extra TV to our basement and they are going to start their P90X journey sometime this week. Now, me??? Have I started my running program yet? Uhhhh....no. After I find out whats going on as far as BFP or BFN, I will be on the running trail and on my way to a 10k in the springtime! I'll get there..I promise :)

Tonights dinner:

Beef and Squash Stir Fry

1.5lb of fajitas beef
2 zucchini (bite size pieces)
2 yellow squash (bite size pieces)
1 bell pepper (bite size pieces)
Tony Chacheres or creole seasoning
salt
pepper
Worcestershire sauce

Season meat and drizzle with W. sauce. Transfer to wok and cook thoroughly. Toss in veggies and add W. Sauce to taste. Cover and allow to cook until veggies are fork tender.

Goodnight readers!<3

Countdown to Texas!

Only one week until our trip to Texas to see the family. It has been emotional ups and downs with the whole planning of this trip. It makes me hate going home, and quite honestly, that really sucks.

You try to make everyone happy...in the long run you should be making yourself happy, but its pretty difficult when everyone is trying to pull you in six different directions. Its our first year dealing with this though, so I am hoping it will get better as the years go by. One day maybe we'll be pros at this!

Made us a big pot of low carb beef stew last night, and here is the recipe:

The amounts in this particular recipe are VERY adjustable to suit your needs. I made a HUGE pot last night!

1lb of Stew meat
1/2 yellow onion (chopped into large pieces)
1 can cut green beans
3 medium turnips (chopped into bite size pieces)
2 cans rotel
1 pkg fresh mushrooms (sliced)
3 celery stalks (diced)
1 small head of cauliflour (divided into bite size pieces)
1 small bag of baby carrots (cut in half)
Pepper
Chili Powder

In a large pot, add onions, celery, mushrooms, pepper and chili powder; turn on high to get water close to boiling. While water is heating, season meat and chop veggies. As water starts to simmer add meat. Allow meat to cook through, then add turnips, cauliflour, baby carrots, and rotel. Allow all ingredients to boil until all are fork tender. When everything is tender and cooked, add green beans and allow to simmer on medium so flavor can soak in.

Enjoy!
